Overcoming the stomach because of eating full

To deal with stomach ulcers, pay attention to the following things to do and what to avoid.

1. Do not lie down immediately

Eating full can indeed make the body feel bad. It feels like maybe I want to lie down while waiting for the feeling to go away. However, lying on your stomach like that will actually hinder your digestion. The lying position can lead to acid reflux or respiratory problems in people who have asthma. This is because the human digestive system has indeed been designed in such a way as to process food while sitting or standing upright. So, wait up to three hours before you go to sleep or lie down.

2. Change clothes with looser ones

When you are at home, change out of your clothes that are too tight with loose clothes. Tight clothing can put pressure on the stomach and interfere with your digestive process. When eating out, try to loosen your pants or jacket.

3. Drink warm water or mint tea

When your stomach is full and bloated, you may not be able to fill it with anything anymore. However, warm water and mint tea can improve the digestive system. Both are able to help push gas out of the intestines and stomach. That way, the journey of the food you eat will be smoother and faster for the body to process. However, try to drink a little first, don’t immediately drink too much.

4. Stand and walk

No need to exercise hard after eating until you are full. Enough light exercise such as standing and walking. If you’re at home, you can wash the dishes and clear the table. When you are eating out, take a short walk around where you eat. Moderate exercise can help prevent stomach acid from rising into the esophagus.

5. Take antacid drugs

If you eat so much that your chest feels tight and sore or your stomach feels like it is prickling, you can take an antacid medicine. The antacid drugs that are usually offered to treat ulcers can relieve stomach pains and bloating. In addition, antacid drugs can also help neutralize stomach acid which rises and causes chest pain.

This should be done the day after

There is no need to force yourself with all-out exercise or not eating all day because you ate too much the day before. Exercise as usual. The reason is, the food you ate yesterday has been metabolized by the body. So, it’s useless if you exercise hard the day after.

Meanwhile, not eating will mess up your metabolic system. As a result, when you do finally eat, you tend to eat too much of a normal portion and become full again. After eating full, just wait until you are hungry again before eating. There’s no need to skip one or two meals because you feel guilty about overeating.
